The YAMAM is the Israeli National Police’s elite unit of operatives, tasked with safeguarding the State of Israel and its citizens. It is a job that unit’s operatives have done effectively and without hesitation for four decades, in some cases willingly sacrificing themselves for the safety of others. The nature of the YAMAM’s mission requires that the unit and its members must always be on alert and ready to answer the call to service at a moment’s notice. The strain of this can affect the well-being of even the strongest of operatives and their families. The Friends of YAMAM was formed to advance projects that will return some normalcy to everyday life and provide an additional means of support for the YAMAM family.
